Headed up by Michelin-starred chef Manjunath Mural, Heritijdelights diners with their unique approach to Asian-Indian cuisine. Fusing traditional Indian techniques and contemporary Asian flavours, Heritij creates a dining experience that is unlike any other.
Chef Mural is the first Indian Executive Chef to score a Michelin star for an Indian restaurant in Southeast Asia. His vision to present Indian cuisine at its pinnacle on an international level makes Heritij the next chapter in his culinary achievements, which include being awarded one Michelin star in 2016 and again in 2017 as Executive Chef of Song of India, a modern restaurant that features regional flavours across India.
Working alongside Malt Dining’s Nick Pinn and Saffron’s Sridhar Penumechu, Manjunath has created a bar and dining experience that is entirely unlike any other in Brisbane.
He explains, “Playing with ingredients, colours, flavours, presentation and garnishes makes me happy. I like the constant thinking it requires, and the way we can modify the cuisine, and shape it according to local demand, while still ensuring diners know it is Indian cuisine. My dream is to share my style in presenting Indian cuisine in a way which is relevant to diners across the world, and that haute Indian cuisine will one day be as accepted as haute French dining.”
Heritij features an exciting menu inspired by Indian and Asian cuisines and uses the finest Australian produce with traditional techniques. Dishes include Sambal Barra, Pomegranate Prawn, Kashmiri Lamb Shank and more. Their signature dish, the Flambé Leg of Lamb, will be flambéed at the table for diners to share and boasts royal influences from the Nawabs Of India. It features whole-roasted spiced lamb leg, served alongside heirloom carrots, beetroot and mint sauce.
Under the creative excellence of Nick Pinn, Heritij’s Bar has an exciting cocktail menu, combining classics with a signature range that is also inspired by the dining experience’s Indian-Asian heritage. The bar will offer a new take on street food for grazing in addition to its expansive cocktail menu as well as a focus on exclusive American whisky blends and international whisky blends.
Heritij will be open Monday to Saturday with private bookings and events on Sundays.
